The gooseberry (Ribes uva-crispa) is a winter shrub of the uvaspina family in northern and central Europe. Juicy berries have a diameter of about 10 – 20 mm. They are available in many varieties with red, green and white fruits, all of which have a sour taste. Gooseberries contain a lot of vitamin C.
