1881

My great-great grandfather Guccio Gucci, who was the founder of the Florentine fashion house Gucci, was born in Florence.

1904

My great-grandfather Alberto, of Portuguese origin, along with his family, moved to the Roman coast, in Ostia, where he started working in catering.

1910

Guccio bought the Azienda Agricola Fattoria de' Rossi in San Donato in Avane, in the Florentine Valdarno. The family used the farm as a place of leisure, where they enjoyed a change of scenery from daily Florentine life. The land, cultivated with vineyards, olive groves, arable land and woods, provided the raw materials for the production of olive oil, wine and jams.

1921

My great-grandfather Alberto, of Portuguese origin, along with his family, moved to the Roman coast, in Ostia, where he started working in catering.

1931

My grandfather, Paolo Gucci, was born. He became one of the driving forces of the Family Company and at the same time a lover of nature, and good food.

1935

During a period of growth of all the activities of the area, Alberto opened his Bottega di vinaio a few steps from the coastline.

1937

My grandfather Roberto Sanges, son of Alberto, was born in Ostia. He worked in the Wine bottega since he was child.

1958

Grandpa Roberto began to carry water in a cart to supply the bathing establishments along the Roman seafront. Together with his wife, Grandma Rita, he expanded the business which serves a network of about 1000 customers today.

1972

Grandfather Paolo, driven by unconditional love for country life, decided to buy land in the Florentine hills. There he built his farm where he produced oil, honey, jams and cheese.

1980

My parents visited San Vigilio di Marebbe, a little jewel of South Tyrol, for the first time. From here on, every year, we return to what we consider our second home.

1985

My father and my two uncles took over the company with one mission: to maintain the family tradition. The “bottega di vinaio” becomes “Enoteca Sanges dal 1935”.

1986

Grandpa Paolo retired to the London countryside cultivating his greatest passion: horses.

2002

The Enoteca Sanges since 1935 can boast a choice of more than 4500 labels and was born, in the largest room, the Tre Bicchieri winery, which will become after a few years Ristorante Vineria Tre Bicchieri.

2008

My family and I, after more than a century, rediscovered the Florentine countryside and moved to the hills of Reggello near Castel de' Rossi. Here, living and spending most of my time, I slowly fell in love with the life and fruits that the countryside has to offer us.

2018

Thanks to a work experience in Florence, I meet Cosimo. Immediately we discover that we have in common more than we could imagine: from childhood we both frequented and loved a village in Trentino at the time unknown: San Vigilio di Marebbe.

2019

I moved permanently to the Florentine countryside, where Cosimo already lived immersed in olive groves and a few steps from a wood. From the first oil pressing I saw, from the first slice of Tuscan ham I tasted, I realized that this was my world.

2021

After a year and a half of study and research, Avo was finally born. Our dreams, our passions come to life in this online shop that we hope will be for you an experience of taste without equal.

Research

Craftsmanship, tradition, quality and exclusivity are the adjectives that we have researched and found in each of our producers and this is what we always do.

Tradition

The teachings, the principles, the values handed down to us by our ancestors are the pillars of our present day. We strive every day not to forget the traditions and methods of the past.
